Statistics: Russia’s deflation at 0.1% in August 13–Monday
MOSCOW, Aug 21 (PRIME) – Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service registered a o.1% deflation for a second week in a row from August 13 through Monday, and inflation amounted to 2.5% since January 1, the service said on Wednesday.
In the reporting week, prices for eggs rose 1.2%, for millet by 0.6%, for rice by 0.4%, for frozen fish and cur by 0.3%, for beef, poultry, canned meat, cheeses, and bread by 0.2%.
At the same time, sugar prices fell by 0.9%, and prices for lamb meat shrank by 0.5%, for sterilizer milk by 0.4%, for pork by 0.3%, and for sunflower oil by 0.2%.
Fruit and vegetable prices decreased 3.9% on average. Tomato prices fell by 8.7%, potato and carrot prices by 6.6%, and onion prices by 6.3%.
Gasoline and diesel fuel prices remained flat.
